What does F1 on my cool box mean and how do I solve it?
An F1 message indicates a voltage problem or an incorrectly set battery protection mode. This can occur both when using the Powerpack and when connected via your vehicle's 12V socket.
When using the Powerpack, an F1 message usually appears when the battery protection mode is not set to L (low). When using your vehicle's 12V socket, the cause is more often voltage loss or a poor connection in the wiring.
The correct battery protection mode depends on the type of battery in your vehicle: for traditional lead-acid batteries the H (high) setting is recommended, because these batteries must not be deeply discharged and benefit from earlier protective intervention. For lithium and LiFePO4 batteries, L (low) is recommended instead, because these batteries can safely be discharged more deeply and need a lower protection setting to make full use of the available capacity.
- Using the Powerpack? Set the battery protection mode to L (low).
- Using your vehicle's 12V socket? Check the wiring and connection for voltage loss or a poor connection.
- Check which type of battery you use and set the corresponding mode (H for lead-acid, L for lithium/LiFePO4).
- Compare your battery voltage with the table below.

Is it normal for the temperature in my cool box to fluctuate?
Small temperature fluctuations of about 2-3 degrees are normal and part of how the cool box works. The compressor regulates the temperature within that margin.
Larger differences are often caused by external factors such as opening the cool box, adding products that have not been chilled or higher ambient temperatures. As long as the compressor is running, the cool box is actively working to return to the set temperature.
- Open the cool box as little and as briefly as possible.
- Do not put warm products directly into the cool box.
- Make sure the cool box is not in direct sunlight or near a heat source.
What do error codes such as F1, F2 or F3 on my cool box mean?
When a code appears on your display, the cool box has detected a fault.
Error codes are shown as soon as the system detects a deviation, for example in the power supply or the cooling process.
- Look up the specific code in the manual.
- Follow the steps described there to solve the problem.
- Check whether the error code disappears after these steps.
Don't have the manual at hand? You can find all manuals here.
Is condensation in my cool box normal?
Condensation in the cool box is normal. Warm, humid air that enters when the cool box is opened cools down and forms water droplets on the inside. This can happen more often, especially in warm or humid weather.
- Open the cool box as briefly as possible and close it properly after use.
- Regularly wipe the inside dry with a cloth to remove excess moisture.
Why do I see two dashes on the display of my Dual zone cool box?
Two dashes on the display mean that the compartment concerned has been switched off. In this setting, no temperature is displayed or regulated on purpose.
- Consult the manual for the steps to reactivate the compartment.
- Follow the instructions via the control panel.
- After switching it on, check whether the temperature is displayed normally again.
Don't have the manual at hand? You can find all manuals here.
My cool box won't switch on, what can I check?
If your cool box does nothing, first check the power supply before assuming it is defective.
This is often caused by an interrupted power supply, for example a loose cable, a power source without voltage or a blown fuse.
- Check that the power cable is properly connected.
- Test whether the power source supplies voltage, for example by connecting another device to it.
- Check whether the fuse next to the plug connection of the cool box is intact.
Is it normal that my cool box is sometimes louder?
It is normal for the noise level of your cool box to vary.
The cool box uses a variable-speed compressor: depending on the cooling required, the compressor runs faster or slower.
- Make sure the cool box stands free and does not vibrate against anything.
- Check whether loose products in the cool box are causing extra noise.
Why do I sometimes hear a gurgling sound?
A gurgling or flowing sound during use is normal.
This is caused by the refrigerant circulating through the cooling system, which is mainly audible during cooling or when the compressor is active. This is inherent to how the new generation of natural refrigerants works and is part of normal use of the cool box.
- Notice whether the sound coincides with the compressor switching on or off.
Can my cool box be tilted while driving, sailing or camping?
A boat or other moving situation is no problem: the cool box can be used temporarily at an angle while sailing or during transport. For optimal operation, however, it is important that the cool box is not permanently tilted.
- Place the cool box as level as possible whenever you can.
- Only use the cool box at an angle temporarily, for example while sailing or during transport.
HyFridge refrigerators
How do I set the temperature of my HyFridge correctly?
The HyFridge is available in two versions, each with a different way of regulating the temperature.
In the Dual zone version, the fridge and freezer sections are completely separate and each has its own temperature setting; the freezer compartment can also be switched off temporarily to save energy.
In the standard version, the fridge and freezer sections are linked and work on the basis of one shared temperature control: the temperature set in the fridge compartment automatically determines the temperature in the freezer compartment according to a fixed ratio. This makes operation simpler, but offers less flexibility than the Dual zone version.
- Check which model you have: the HyFridge Dual zone or the standard HyFridge. You can find this on the sticker on the inside of your refrigerator.
- With Dual zone, set the fridge and freezer sections separately.
- With the standard HyFridge, set the fridge compartment temperature and consult the table below for the expected freezer compartment temperature.

-16°C
6°C
-17°C
4°C
-18°C
2°C
-19°C

-20°C
Please note: at lower ambient temperatures, the freezer compartment of the standard HyFridge may (partially) defrost, because the compressor switches on less often. In that case, operation can be optimised by adjusting the temperature setting; click here for more information.
Why does my freezer compartment not get cold enough?
Your freezer compartment may defrost when the outside temperature is low, because the refrigerator's compressor then switches on less often.
This causes temperature fluctuations in the freezer section, which can lead to (partial) defrosting. This is a known phenomenon with compressor refrigerators in cold conditions.
If this is the case, you can reverse the temperature setting of the refrigerator. From that moment on, the compressor responds to the temperature measured in the freezer compartment instead of in the fridge section.
Because the fridge and freezer sections are linked, this also affects the temperature in the fridge section. The setting thus changes the way the refrigerator controls the compressor, which directly affects both compartments.
- Check that you have the standard HyFridge (this does not apply to Dual zone models).
- Set only the freezer compartment temperature, so that the compressor responds to the temperature in the freezer compartment instead of the fridge section.
- Consult the table below for the corresponding fridge temperature per setting.

What does F1 on my HyFridge mean and how do I solve it?
An F1 message on the refrigerator means that insufficient voltage is being measured at the input connection.
This often happens because the vehicle wiring is not properly connected, or because the wiring does not meet the required cable thickness from the manual, which causes voltage loss. An incorrectly set battery protection mode can also cause the message: for traditional lead-acid batteries the H (high) setting is recommended, while for lithium and LiFePO4 batteries the L (low) setting is advised.
- Check the vehicle wiring for correct connections and contact points.
- Preferably connect the refrigerator directly to the battery for a stable power supply.
- Check that the wiring meets the cable thickness described in the manual.
- Check the battery type and set the correct protection mode (see table below).

Is condensation or water in my HyFridge normal?
Condensation in the refrigerator is normal. Warm, humid air that enters when the refrigerator is opened cools down and forms water droplets on the inside. This can happen more often, especially in warm or humid weather.
- Open the refrigerator as briefly as possible and close it properly after use.
- Regularly wipe the inside dry with a cloth to remove excess moisture.
Can my HyFridge be connected directly to 230V?
No, the refrigerator is designed to be connected directly to a 12V or 24V power source.
A compressor refrigerator requires a high starting current, which means many standard 230V inverters are unsuitable or do not work stably enough. Special refrigerator inverters exist, but they are often expensive and in practice only worthwhile if the refrigerator is used exclusively on 230V.
Our advice is to connect the refrigerator directly to the battery; in most vehicles, this is charged automatically via the built-in battery charger as soon as the vehicle is connected to 230V.
- Connect the refrigerator directly to the battery (12V/24V).
- Check that the battery is charged automatically as soon as the vehicle is connected to 230V.
What cable thickness do I need for my HyFridge?
Extending the wiring is not recommended.
Extra length can cause voltage loss, which may make the refrigerator work less well or cause faults.
Do you need more distance to the battery? Then replace the cable with a thicker cable that meets the specifications in the manual, instead of extending the existing cable.
- Determine the required distance to the battery.
- Choose a thicker cable that meets the specifications in the manual.
Don't have the manual at hand? You can find all manuals here.
Can I remove the freezer compartment from my HyFridge?
On some models, the freezer compartment can be removed to temporarily create extra space in the refrigerator, for example after doing the shopping.
However, we advise against removing the freezer compartment permanently. This can lead to temperature fluctuations and excessive condensation, which can affect cooling performance.
- Check whether your model has a removable freezer compartment.
- Only remove it temporarily.
- Put the freezer compartment back as soon as possible.
Does the refrigerator have a ventilation setting?
Do you want to ventilate the refrigerator when it is not in use? Then you can simply leave the door open. On models produced from 2023 onwards, the interior light switches off automatically after about 3 minutes to save energy.
What do error codes on my HyFridge mean?
When a code appears on your display, the refrigerator has detected a fault.
Does night mode make my HyFridge quieter?
The compressor regulates its speed automatically and always runs as efficiently as possible at the lowest level required.
As a result, the compressor may already be running at minimum speed when night mode is activated. In that case, the noise level hardly changes, because the refrigerator is already working in its quietest setting.
- Activate night mode and listen to the sound of the compressor.
- Check whether the compressor was already running at low speed before you switched on night mode.
Don't have the manual at hand? You can find all manuals here.
Does the interior light switch off automatically if the door stays open?
The interior light stays on as long as the door is open, so the contents remain clearly visible. On models produced after 2023, the light switches off automatically after 3 minutes to save energy.
Is it normal that my HyFridge sometimes runs louder?
It is normal for the noise level of your refrigerator to vary.
The refrigerator uses a variable-speed compressor: depending on the cooling required, the compressor runs faster or slower.
- Make sure the refrigerator stands free and does not vibrate against anything.
- Check whether loose products in the refrigerator are causing extra noise.
Is a gurgling sound in my HyFridge normal?
A gurgling or flowing sound during use is normal.
This is caused by the refrigerant circulating through the cooling system, which is mainly audible during cooling or when the compressor is active. This is inherent to how the new generation of natural refrigerants works and is part of normal use of the refrigerator.
- Notice whether the sound coincides with the compressor switching on or off.
HyBreeze air conditioners
How do I reset my HyBreeze to factory settings?
Disconnect the appliance completely by pulling the plug out of the socket and leave it without power for about 60 seconds.
Then plug it back in. In many cases this is enough to reset the system and resolve any temporary faults.
- Pull the plug out of the socket.
- Wait about 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in.
Should the condensate hose be connected to the indoor unit or the outdoor unit?
The connection of the condensate hose depends on your installation: in a vehicle or with the Home Use Kit.
When mounted in a vehicle
Connect the condensate hose to the outdoor unit. The condensate is automatically pumped from the indoor unit to the outdoor unit, where it is used to cool the outdoor unit. This provides extra energy efficiency during use.
When used with the Home Use Kit
Connect the condensate hose to the indoor unit. The hose drains the condensate into the bucket. In this situation, make sure the plug on the outdoor unit is properly closed to prevent unwanted water leakage.
- Make sure the plug on the other unit is properly closed to prevent unwanted water leakage.
What does the error code on my HyBreeze mean?
When a code appears on your display, the air conditioner has detected a fault.
Can I separate the indoor and outdoor unit?
No, the indoor and outdoor units are permanently connected to each other as a closed cooling system.
This system must not be disconnected or opened, as this can irreparably damage the air conditioner.
- Do not try to disconnect or open the units yourself.
- Consult the manual for permitted installation changes.
Don't have the manual at hand? You can find all manuals here.
Why is my HyBreeze leaking water and what can I check?
First check whether the condensate hose is connected correctly.
When used in a vehicle
Connect the condensate hose to the outdoor unit and make sure the plug is fitted on the indoor unit.
When used with the Home Use Kit
Connect the condensate hose to the indoor unit and fit the plug on the outdoor unit.
Also make sure both units are level, so the condensate can drain properly and does not leak unintentionally.
- Check the connection according to your installation (vehicle or Home Use Kit).
- Check that both units are level.
- Check the hose for kinks or blockages.

Does the app still crash after that? Then send us the exact model of your Hyckes appliance, your phone model, your Android version and a screenshot or screen recording of the moment the app crashes. We will then look into it with you.
Powerpack
Which HyCooler models does the Powerpack work with?
The Hyckes Powerpack is suitable for all HyCooler Go and HyCooler Pro cool boxes.
The battery is placed directly in the cool box, so you can keep cooling even without an external power supply.
Do you have several Powerpacks? Then you can easily swap them to extend the operating time of your cool box even further.
- Check on the sticker on the bottom of the appliance whether your cool box is a HyCooler Go or Pro model.
- Place the Powerpack directly in the dedicated space in the cool box.
How does the Powerpack battery recharge?
The Powerpack is charged automatically when it is placed in the cool box and the cool box is connected to 12/24V or to 230V via the HyCooler power adapter.
In addition, the Powerpack can be charged via the optional HyCooler Solar panel, so you can easily top up energy on the road or off-grid. Want to charge the Powerpack outside the cool box? Then you can use the Powerpack charger; it lets you charge the battery easily and efficiently from a 230V socket.
- Place the Powerpack in the cool box.
- Connect the cool box to 12/24V or to 230V via the HyCooler power adapter.
How long does it take for the Powerpack to fully charge?
The charging time depends on the power source used and the remaining battery capacity.
With the optional Powerpack charger, a completely empty Powerpack is usually fully charged within about 5 hours.
When charging in the cool box, the charging time may be longer, because the available energy is first used to power and cool the cool box.
- Use the Powerpack charger for the fastest charging time (approx. 5 hours).
- Keep in mind that charging in the cool box can take longer.
How long does my cool box run on a full Powerpack?
The operating time depends on several factors, such as the ambient temperature, the set temperature, the contents of the cool box and how often the lid is opened.
Under average conditions, you can count on up to 24 hours of cooling on one fully charged Powerpack.
Would you like an accurate indication for your cool box? See the table below for reference. These times are based on a fully loaded cool box, set to 7°C for cooling or -18°C for freezing, at an ambient temperature of 25 degrees.

Why do I get F1 when my cool box runs on the Powerpack?
An F1 message can occur when the battery protection mode of the cool box is not set correctly.
When using a Powerpack, the battery protection must be set to L (Low). In this setting, the cool box can use the full capacity of the Powerpack. If the setting is higher, the cool box may switch off too early and show an F1 message.
- Check that the battery protection mode is set to L (low).
- Adjust the setting via the control panel if necessary.
Don't have the manual at hand? You can find all manuals here.
Why does the app show 100% while my Powerpack is not full?
The app always shows the exact charge percentage of the Powerpack.
As soon as the cool box is connected to 12/24V or to 230V via the adapter, the charge status in the app immediately jumps to 100%. This indicates that the Powerpack is charging, not that it is already completely full.
- Is the cool box connected to power? Then the app shows 100% as long as charging is active.
- Disconnect the power supply to see the actual charge percentage of the Powerpack in the app.
- You can also check the 4 LEDs on the Powerpack itself; they always show the current charge status, whether or not power is connected.
How do I read the charge status of the Powerpack?
You read the charge status of the Powerpack directly on the Powerpack itself, via the 4 blue LEDs on the housing.
Each lit LED represents part of the battery charge.
- 1 LED lit: approx. 25% charged
- 2 LEDs lit: approx. 50% charged
- 3 LEDs lit: approx. 75% charged
- 4 LEDs lit: approx. 100% charged
Press the button next to the LEDs to request the current charge status; the LEDs then show for a few seconds how much charge the Powerpack has left.
How do I store the Powerpack if I don't use it for a long time?
Store the Powerpack at a charge of about 50%, in a dry place at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. A battery that is stored completely empty or completely full loses capacity faster over time than a battery that is half charged.
- Charge the Powerpack to about 50% before storing it. This can easily be done outside the cool box with the Powerpack 230V charger.
- Store it dry, at room temperature and out of direct sunlight.
- Top up the Powerpack to about 50% every 2 to 3 months, also during longer storage.
- Avoid storage in extreme heat or frost.
Are you going to use the Powerpack again after a longer period of storage? Then charge it fully first before placing it in the cool box.
Solar panel
Can I connect the solar panel directly to the cool box?
The HyCooler Solar Panel can be connected directly to the HyCooler cool box via the dedicated connection.
The cool box then manages the energy flow and the entire charging process itself. This keeps the system easy to use and fully automatic in operation, without extra settings or accessories.
- Connect the solar panel to the dedicated connection on the cool box.
Do I need a Powerpack to use the solar panel?
The HyCooler Solar Panel only works in combination with the Powerpack battery.
Without a Powerpack, there is no way to store the generated energy, so the system does not work. The Powerpack battery acts as an essential energy buffer and ensures that the energy from the solar panel is stored correctly and used to run the cool box.
- Use the route Solar Panel → Powerpack → HyCooler Go/Pro.
- Check that the Powerpack is placed in the cool box; without a Powerpack, the solar panel does not work.
Can I extend the cable of the HyCooler Solar Panel?
No longer connection cable is available for the HyCooler Solar Panel.
Using a longer cable is not recommended, as this can cause voltage loss. As a result, part of the generated solar energy is lost. For the best performance, it is recommended to install the system as compactly as possible.
- Install the system as compactly as possible.
- Only use the supplied cable.
